Hey, this is me...

With everything going on, I haven't taken a moment to sit down and catch up on my life!!! So for a moment, politics and the world needs must be held at bay, while I bask in everyday joys.
F and A's Baby shower went off with a bang!!! It was so fun, and the clubhouse was a big surprise. The theme, was "Rockabilly Baby". Red, white and black with cherries. Sat AM C went to check out the clubhouse and discovered it already had a '50's decor. It couldn't have been more perfect!! There was a little diner style booth with Rte 66 and other metal signs, movie stills and memorabelia all over the place. (I don't have the pics up[loaded and edited for web yet, but I'll post them soon)
C provided the clubhouse and the food (luscious antipasto, spinach dip and meat and cheese trays, along with her famous pasta salad). K and M brought the cake. Magnificent!!! She managed to get an image of the Betty Page Pinup with the Panther Back tattoo and cherries on the cake. It was so cute. We played a few silly games, ate food, and of course did the obligatory oooh-ing and aaahhh-ing over all the lovely gifts.

Quite a few of us returned here for an evening of A's killer BBQ-ed ribs, music and conversation. It was a great (if exhausting) day.

I've been in a Fibromyalgia flare-up for a couple of weeks now. It's really kicking my butt. Of course, there isn't enough rest to be had so it just keeps stretching out. I spend a day or two up and doing (too much) and then a day or two (if I can) in bed. I'm getting tired of this. I'm trying to remain grateful that I haven't had a flare up in about 6 months, and remembering that 3-5 years ago I lived in this kind of pain and exhaustion daily, and couldn't go anywhere without a wheelchair. I know that our current financial stress is contributing, as well as concern over F' pregnancy. I need to relax and let go and let the Universe unfold. I'm workin' on it!!!

Back on the bright side, F had the ultrasound and the Baby is at 6 lbs, 6 oz. Yippee!!! The due date is bumped to April 20.

More good news is it looks like I'm going to get some respite assistance from caring for G, 24/7. Inland Valley Caregivers' Association offers assistance and programs to help with this. It will be nice to be able to go somewhere and not have to ask the kids or T to take care of G. I'll be able to maybe get away a little. There are also support and info groups and classes offered.

We're getting closer and closer to having the downpmt for the new truck we need so T can go for that Union Carpenter job. Yes!!! Oh wouldn't it be a miracle to have health care?!

The weather is getting awesome here in our beautiful High Desert, and it's time to start watering and puttering in the garden. The asparagus is up and delicious. I've had too much going on to start my tomatoes and peppers from seed this year, so I'll just have to buy small plants. I think it's gonna be a small garden this year. Too much work to do the whole 1000 sq. feet, and still battling that bermuda grass that was in the manure last year. We also need to do some repairs on the drip system for the trees.

That's it for the microcosm; back to the macrocosm!!
