I'm NOT a BOT!!!!

LOL So that was a good one. I recently left a comment in someone's blog* to alert this blogger to an online event that I thought, having been reading this person's journal for awhile, that he/she would like. Evidently the manner of my posting was too impersonal, and my linking was inappropriate in some way I don't understand. The result was I pushed his/her paranoid buttons and received a scathing mention in his/her recent post.

a random comment left in my blog that looked spam-like actually does have an existence and originate from the source is says it does. This is because someone else linked to the clearinghouse on it, and from there, the source was readily apparent. All in all, this exercise has two components to it - one, if you’re going to promote something, don’t sound like you’re a spam-bot. Put some thought into your material and sound like a human being. Second, if you want people to actually have a look at what you’re promoting, provide a place for them to look around without trying to infect their computers or throw up their paranoia flags.

Thank goodness he/she didn't actually name me (NOT). LOL I'm a dork when it comes to alot of this blogging and interaction via comment and links, but I'm learning. I'm still not sure how anything I posted could have tried to infect anybody's computer, but perhaps it's a PC thing. I'm not so up on that stuff, being a MacUser.

Maybe I linked it back to my blog or my Clipmarks?? And then you had to go from there?? I don't know. Anyway, comments and suggestions from anyone on linking protocols would be appreciated. I'd like to avoid such heinous blogging faux pas in the future!

You're not a dork. some people will pretend that there is a set of rules that they expect others to follow, but ofcourse there is not. Basically , just have to treat others like you would like to be treated and because everyone is different, that too will offend a few. People just gonna have to deal with it, this is the Internet, and there are no rules.

I had an instance where a female blogger I guess was falling for me, I thought we were just friends. When she came across a picture of me with my wife, she then acted betrayed.

Shit happens, people can't deal with it, go back to TV and your make believe world that you can change just by switching channels.
