What the Fuck???

...is "Open Thread Friday"??

So I'm really tryin' to get into the swing of the blogosphere. I've been cruising around trying to figure out what all the "Open Thread" posts designate. They have nothing in common from a content perspective, except of course, as it's relevant to the site. They don't appear to be a free for all most places, but at some they are. I've found some "Open Threads" that are maybe places you can pimp your blog or a post, I think. A couple that may be general commentary, several that seem to have a guest blogger submission, and at least one that has pretty much the usual.

Wha Fu...?

I do wanna give a big thank you

THANK YOU!!!!!

To a few of the folks that have been kind enough to help me learn a little and figure out how to navigate my foolish ass around.

Blue Gal, has been patient, supportive and informative, as have TenGrain at MPS and betmo

And a super big thank you

THANK YOU!!!!!

to everyone who has taken the time to stop and read and comment.

I've updated my blogrolls, today. I think I got most everyone I'm reading, but please let me know if you think you should be there and you're not.

Well, Thorne, I have no idea what an open thread is but did want to comment on yesterday's post. What struck me most was your willingness to question yourself, to dig deep and admit you didn't know in those cases where the real life experience was lacking. And just as you said (in an earlier post) that the Right is sustained by hate and fear (versus those who are all about love and acceptance) -- so too, they are less likely to question their beliefs. Their fear keeps them prisoner of their own misunderstanding. To question their "god"-given, immoveable beliefs, to waver at all, is to show weakness. Yesterday's post is illustrative of one more big and important difference between (and please forgive the gross generalization here) the Right and the Left. Lefties question, Righties don't. It takes more courage to question and then dig some more than it does to dig in your heels and stay stuck. My two cents for the day. And now I can feel oh-so-smug about what a great and thinking group I belong to ... NOT. -- Peace, Susan from SLO

as far as i know- it's a post that is left open for comments. i generally just leave my post up for a couple of days over the weekend because not many folks get around on the weekend. the comments are open for folks to comment with each other about whatever.

if you are interested- the peace tree is looking for collaborators-

Don't feel a bit bad about yourself. It took me a month to figure out what the hell a "cuppa" was. I'm thinking this exotic foreign stuff......

Like what/and the way you write.

Picked up a feed for http://thepeacetree.blogspot.com/. What a great site. The poetry is moving!! I'll be adding it to my blogroll next update. Thank you betmo for the "Open Thread" info. Maybe I should figure out how to work it in?? I might try it on a different day, though. Fridays seem to be too much for too many.
